about

“Cure for the Malaise” is Odd Orbit’s interpretation and arrangement of Yoann Laulan’s soundtrack from the video game Dead Cells. Some of the songs are faithful representations of the original music and others have had their structure completely deconstructed and rebuilt. Many sections include our own riffs and melodies, effectively making “Cure for the Malaise” a hybrid of a video game arrange album and the proper followup to our 2020 EP, “Before Time Ends”.

Yoann’s Dead Cells soundtrack can be found here:

While each of the three songs on the album is arranged as a suite to provide a chronological journey through three different paths of the game, this album is meant to be listened to as one cohesive piece of music. 0BC represents the default difficulty and initial levels of the game, 5BC represents the highest difficulty through the true final boss, and 2BC is somewhere in the middle, having themes from the levels that are in the middle of the game that wouldn’t fit in the other two suites due to on level traversal logistics. This album is based off of Rise of the Giant, which was released as Dead Cells version 1.2.

Please note, there are 5BC spoilers in the track listing below!
